The T. Alan Dickson Gallery at Cannon Memorial Hospital June 2008 | Lottie Naomi Hoffman Exhibit at Cannon Hospital Banner Elk, NC June 16, 2008 – The T. Alan Dickson Gallery at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville features artist Lottie Hoffman’s unique collection of realistic and colorful art in the month of June. The exhibit is sponsored by the Avery Arts Council (AAC). Lottie Naomi Hoffman, who now resides in Newland, NC, has achieved success in watercolor acrylics and oils. Painting a diversified array of subjects, from wildlife to florals, results in an unusual selection for the private art collector. Lottie had an exciting and interesting career as Controller/Treasurer in the New York City Women’s fashion industry, working with name brands such as Yves St. Laurent. A childhood interest in sketching and using a harmony of colors make the transition from fashion to art a natural move. To expand her knowledge of art techniques, she has studied extensively under several well-known artists such as Skip Lawrence, Don Getz, Joe Fettingis, Cheng Khee Chee, and Joe Bohler. As a professional artist, she is a member of the High Country Watermedia Society and the Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League. When asked why she loves art, she answered, “Painting gives me a great sense of accomplishment.” |
