June 2010: Cannon Hospital’s Gallery displays photography by Skip Sickler for June show

The photography of Skip Sickler is on display throughout the month of June at the T. Allen Dickson Gallery, Cannon Memorial Hospital, Linville. 

Sickler’s passion for photography has been apparent since he received his first camera in 1971.  His father’s military career provided the opportunity to see many different places, and Sickler enjoyed recording the images along the way.  A High Country resident since the 80’s, Sickler’s photos have appeared in local media such as his recent cover art for Carolina Mountain Life. 

The Dickson Gallery at Cannon Memorial provides a scenic setting for Sickler’s collection of framed photographs.  The gallery can be accessed during the hospital’s hours of operation.  Viewers wishing to purchase the photographs should contact the Avery Arts Council, 828-898-4292.
